I utilize a person-centered approach, working collaboratively with clients to identify their goals and develop a customized treatment plan.
A strong emphasis is placed on building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship.
Additionally, there is often an existential element to sessions, exploring the meaning of life on an individual level, value exploration, and finding purpose.

I am a solo practitioner with a physical office in the heart of downtown Des Moines, Iowa.
Telehealth services are also available for many services and for most ages.

I am a Mental Health Counselor licensed in Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan.
As a clinician, I've gained experience working with and supporting clients from many backgrounds and life spaces. This includes those in the education field, with chronic health struggles, with religious trauma, people impacted by addiction, children, teens, LGBTQ+, trauma survivors, among others.
I have spent my life following a passion for helping others and seeking understanding.
For the past ten years, I have worked in the mental health field gaining experience with a variety of clinical issues. This has included self-harm and suicidal ideation, addiction, ADHD, OCD, Trichotillomania, Depression, Anxiety, IEP and education support, divorce recovery, existential therapy, personality disorders, body image struggles, identity exploration, career transitions, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and more.
In 2015, I earned a Master of Science Degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University. During this program, I completed a Thesis exploring morality, creativity, and dishonesty. I also completed an internship at a mental health facility for children receiving government assistance.
From 2007-2013, I worked as a Middle School English Teacher in Geneseo, Illinois, and I coached middle school track and volleyball.
In 2007, I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle-Level Teacher Education from Illinois State University, earning endorsements in Social Science and Language Arts. I completed a full-time, year-long student-teaching internship in an 8th grade Social Studies Classroom.
Often times, clients seek my services not only to address concerning issues or symptoms, but to also identify harmful patterns, and remove what is holding them back from thriving, finding purpose, and achieving balance in their life.
